In need of advice to help

My name is Pat Green, and last November I spent 3 weeks in Bamali, Northwest Province of Cameroon with AidCamps International helping to build a school. While there, we had a collaboration with SHUMAS (Strategic Humanitarian Services) and visited many of their projects.
I am trying to help them obtain funds for a clinic in Mogni, but m having trouble trying to get charitable organization status for HUMAS which would also include having any contributions made from his country be allowed as a tax deduction. Because of this, I feel hat people will not contribute as much as they would if it WERE tax-deductible. A bank account was set up for them at a US bank, which s how they would be receiving the funds.
Any suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
